How to insert your tampon
- Wash your hands thoroughly.
- If necessary, remove a tampon that has already been inserted. Yes, in the hustle and bustle of everyday life, women sometimes forget to do this.
- Dispose of the tampon in the household waste and please not in the toilet.
- Remove the protective cover from the new tampon. Please do not throw it in the toilet, but in the household waste.
- Now pull on the retrieval strap and hold it firmly.
- Place your index finger on the flat end of the tampon.
- Now push the tampon diagonally backwards and upwards into your vagina.
- As soon as you can no longer feel the tampon, it is in the right place. If you can still feel it when you move, for example, then push it a little deeper.
- The return strap is still visible? Perfect!
- Wash your hands thoroughly and dispose of the used tampon and protective sleeve correctly.
How to remove your tampon
- Wash your hands thoroughly.
- Pull the removal string and dispose of the tampon in the household waste and not in the toilet.
- If you feel resistance when removing the tampon, it is probably not full enough. Try using a tampon with less absorbency next time.
- Sometimes you won't find the removal string right away. Just stay calm. Squat down, press on the tampon, grasp it with two fingers and gently pull it out.
- If you are unable to remove the tampon on your own, please see a gynecologist immediately. Please also read the information on toxic shock syndrome (TSS) below.
How often should you change your tampon
When your bleeding is at its heaviest, it is best to change your tampon every 3-4 hours. Use only one tampon at a time. Choose the smallest size possible.
You can safely use the MinaDays tampons with CBD oil several times in a row during your entire period. If your period wears off or at night, the tampon can stay in for longer. But please not for longer than 6-8 hours. Please also read the information on toxic shock syndrome (TSS) in the next section.
product safety
Toxic Shock Syndrome (TSS)
Toxic shock syndrome (TSS), although rare, is a serious and sometimes life-threatening condition. It can affect women, men and children. The disease is caused by toxins from certain bacteria that occur naturally on our skin and in our environment.
Special care is required during menstruation: about half of all TSS cases in women and girls occur during menstruation. Although the syndrome is often associated with the use of tampons, it can also occur without them during menstruation.
Be aware of the symptoms of TSS, which may appear suddenly during or shortly after your period. These include sudden high fever (102°F or higher), rash, vomiting, diarrhea, sore throat, dizziness, or fainting. If you experience these symptoms, remove the tampon and seek medical attention immediately. Tell your doctor about the symptoms and mention that you are on your period.
Additional precautions, such as using tampons with the lowest absorbency required and changing them regularly every 4-8 hours, can reduce the risk of TSS. We want to help you navigate your menstrual cycles safely and informed. For more information and support, please contact your healthcare professional. CBD has no potential for abuse and is not physically addictive.
The myth of the hymen, the so-called hymen
The so-called "hymen" is actually a soft band of skin at the entrance to the vagina. It is not a closed membrane, as was previously believed. This band of skin is already naturally open, so the use of tampons has no effect on the condition of the hymen. You can therefore use tampons without any concerns, as they will not damage the band of skin if the tampon is used correctly.
CBD oil and vaginal flora
Our tested cannabidiol oil in the CBD tampons has not caused any irritation or change in the vaginal flora in many studies and surveys.
